Combatting Isolation
Activities
One To One Sessions – Providing advice, support, guidance and referral services to project beneficiaries. Ongoing.
After School Club – Every Friday at Cape Primary Schoo. Ongoing but breaks for school holidays.
Group training sessions – Held at St Phillips Parish Centre, Smethwick. Training subjects include: personal development planning, communication skills, lobbying and advocacy and leadership skills such as organising, organisational development and management and networking.
Support for grass-root group and organsiations and new communities – Available upon request.
Smethwick Womens Active Network (SWAN) – Set up by CRIS as part of the combatting isolation, fear and mistrust project that was core funded by Harborne Parish Lands Charity and Urban Living.
Brings together women from diverse communities in the Smethwick district of Sandwell Borough Council and has been constituted with its own bank account and management committee.
Meets every two weeks at various locations. Recent activities include two family trips to Lickey Hills. Ongoing but breaks for school holidays.
