BETTER UNITED TOGETHER PROJECT
February 7, 2017 at 9:40 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a commentCRIS has successfully completed the delivery of the Better United Together Project which was funded by Awards for All. The project was delivered in the neighbourhoods of Black Heath, Rowley Regis, Oldbury and Halesowen and was focused on addressing issues faced by children and young people. We worked with local churches and mosques and organised training sessions for children, young people and their parents. The project also included physical training and educational field visits to places of interest in and around Birmingham. Lessons learnt from this pilot project will be used to plan further work around children and young people.
Migrant Voice Launch

This key event took place at the Niskam Centre in Handsworth, Birmingham.

Canadian VIP Visit

Ken recently wrote a book called Becoming Canada and visited Europe in November 2011 to speak to experts, politicians and civil society groups about the Canadian experience of multiculturalism and how it differs from that in Europe.
Young Leaders’ Consultation
November 23, 2011 at 12:46 pm | Posted in News | Leave a commentCRIS facilitated a consultation event on 24 November 2011 with young people to discuss how Birmingham City Council can address the issue of budget reduction for the year 2012-13.
Council staff accompanied by Mr Chris Khamis, Director of CSK Strategies, and Dr Fathi Elsadig Jamil, Director of CRIS, met with and listened to the views of a group of young leaders about how the council should make the required savings.
Supplementary Education

The CRIS supplementary school teaches Arabic language, Islamic Studies and English for children from 6 – 16 years and is run by a qualified teacher.

CRIS Trustee receives an OBE

Professor Cox is the Chairman of South West Birmingham Primary Care Trust.
