Migrant Voice

Dr Fathi Elsadig Jamil has joined the Board of Trustees of Migrant Voice, the London based organisation that is working to promote an active role for migrant communities in the British media.

CRIS is also facilitating the establishment and development of Migrant Voice Birmingham to provide media training for leaders of grass-roots migrant community groups and to build bridges between migrant and the local media.

The first meeting of Migrant Voice Birmingham was held in July 2011 and the second meeting in December 2011 at Piers Rd Migrant and Refugee Community Centre in Handsworth. Members of Migrant Voice met with journalists from different media and received media training. They also discussed plans for future development of Migrant Voice Birmingham.
